What burning issues should be noted in sheet metal processing?

During sheet metal processing, a large amount of heat is generated, such as laser, which utilizes highly concentrated energy to achieve the purpose of metal processing. When using this sheet metal processing method, attention should be paid to burning edges.

Especially in the processing of holes, the outside of the hole can be completely cooled, but due to the small thermal diffusion space and the excessive concentration of heat energy, it leads to excessive combustion and slag deposition, and solutions need to be found. The key to solving the problem in laser cutting using oxygen as an auxiliary gas is how to suppress the generation of oxidation reaction heat. During perforation, auxiliary oxygen can be used, and the lag switch is to auxiliary air or nitrogen.

This sheet metal processing method is relatively large and can process small holes in 1/6 thick plates. Pulse cutting conditions with low frequency and peak output power have the characteristic of reducing heat output, which helps to optimize cutting conditions. Setting the conditions to single pulse laser beam, high energy intensity peak output, and low-frequency conditions can effectively reduce the accumulation of molten metal on the material surface during the piercing process, effectively suppress heat output, and solve the problem by fully utilizing this sheet metal processing technology.

In addition, combustion problems can also occur in the sheet metal processing of thick plate metals. In the processing of this material, the auxiliary gas used is nitrogen, which will not cause edge burning during cutting. However, due to the high temperature of the material inside the hole, the phenomenon of internal slag is more frequent.

The effective solution is to increase the pressure of the auxiliary gas and set the conditions to peak output and low-frequency pulse conditions. When using air as an auxiliary gas, just like when using nitrogen, it will not burn excessively, but it is easy to hang slag at the bottom. The conditions need to be set to factors such as high auxiliary gas pressure and peak output low-frequency pulse conditions to improve the processing effect.
